MTPL policy should expire 30 days after car sale

Pro Motor calls for regulations lifting automatic MTPL policy transfer onto new owners of vehicles and allowing termination of contract if subsequent installments are not paid. PZU SA talks to enter Pro Motor

PZU SA will most probably take active part in the work of the Pro Motor Association, ”Parkiet” reports (of 26.01. 2008) citing Michał Witkowski, the insurer’s spokesman, who is said to have supported initiatives aimed at development of motor insurance market and enhancement of the representation of insurance companies. Franz Fuchs, president of VIG for Poland and chairman of Pro Motor admits that the Association is in touch with PZU over its participation in the project. Fuchs told ”Parkiet” he hopes that Poland’s biggest insurer will decide to join the initiative.

Plan of the Association for Development of Motor Insurance and Automobile Market ”Pro Motor”

According to its earlier announcements, the Association for Development of Motor Insurance and Automobile Market ”Pro Motor” has started operating beginning December 2007.

The Association’s General Assembly of Members has adopted an annual plan of activities for 2008. We have set ourselves ambitious objectives because there is quite a lot to be done in the area of our focus. Pro Motor will not compete with the Polish Chamber of Insurance?

Association for Development of Motor Insurance and Automobile Market does not want to become a competitor of the Polish Chamber of Insurance PIU. Neither does it want to copy the initiatives the Chamber.
Andrzej Maciążek from PIU doesn’t treat the new initiative as competition either but believes such associations usually operate in many sectors. Let us not forget that the Pro Motor Association was founded by 24 people, mostly from the insurance market. Pro Motor’s management board is chaired by Franz Fuchs, president of VIG for Poland.

PRO Motor will take care of the motor business

PRO Motor’s intention is to be active in motor insurance. Does this pose a threat to the position of the Polish Chamber of Insurance? Parkiet reports that the Association for Development of Motor Insurance and Automobile Market Pro Motor will start operating officially as of 1 December. The organization does not want to be a competitor for the Polish Chamber of Insurance. Pro Motor was founded by 24 people from the insurance market.

Car registrations first

Still this year Pro Motor will approach the problem of vehicle registration and record system, which "allows" uncontrolled car trading, said Piotr Kaczanowski, member of Pro Motor’s management board.

On July 16, founders of the Association held their first meeting.
